Once those stuffy restraints are put to sleep the sensuous monster that exists in every one of us is un-caged and enabled to play. It’s primordial, left over from our fuzzy forefathers. It’s also a part of us that gets caged up in this busy world of iPods, conferences and soccer practice. Sadly, many people planning to a bottle when they wish to let the beast loose. This is your Brain…

Btic and parasympathetic. The sympathetic system is in charge when your body is in active mode, it’s also called the ‘battle or flight’ system. The parasympathetic kicks in when your body is in a relaxed state or resting. It deals with things like digestion, urination, and sexual arousal. Some people call it the ‘rest and digest’ system.

If you have ever had a difficult time chilling out around a brand-new partner, so much so that you aren’t able to, well, you understand, it’s most likely that the sympathetic system isn’t closing down. You are most likely to feel hot and open to connection when the parasympathetic system is in charge since you have let your guard down.

This is your Brain on Liquor …

You stroll into a bar packed with gorgeous guys and lovely ladies. You see your target and catch their eye. Suddenly, you are nervous as all hell. What’s the very first thing you do? BARTENDER !!! You grab a beverage, then another then another. Unexpectedly, you are standing next to the god or goddess of your dreams and playing some serious video game (probably since they are as drunk as you are). You are both prepared to slip into something more comfortable. RATING !!! Right?

Not a lot. You’ve certainly shut your sympathetic system down, but you’ve actually also closed down your capability to evaluate correctly. You’ve about a 50 % possibility (add 10 % to that number for each beverage past buzz point) that the individual you awaken to in the morning won’t be the person you translucented your beer goggles the night prior to. This awakens your ‘fight or air travel’ system pronto and will likely send you out the door right after with a hangover, a huge bar tab, and a perfect stranger sending you undesirable texts for the next 2 weeks.

This is your Brain on Yoga…

Yoga calms the ‘battle or flight’ part of the sympathetic system but increases your connection to your body, your partner and the world around you. It activates the parasympathetic nerves that instigates relaxation while allowing you to be more knowledgeable about yourself and your environment. So it assists you to drop into the most sensuous you without compromising your ability to judge effectively.

How does Yoga achieve this you ask? By matching reflection, motion and breath to produce a mind cleaning, soul focusing, body beautifying experience. Your mind is cluttered with a constant chatter that takes place nearly every minute of each waking hour of your day and night. When you offer your mind the calm and peaceful it wishes for, you then begin to truly feel what it resembles to have that stunning sexy piece of art work we call the human body. You start to tap into your primordial sexual self that delights in flirting and responding in kind to your entire environment. You begin to taste even more vibrantly, see even more plainly, hear more pristinely, touch more sensationally and smell each and every fragrance more intently.

The breath that’s used in yoga is called the Ujjayi (Sanskrit word for Success) also known as the ‘Ocean Breath’ due to the fact that the deep inhales and deep exhales sound like ocean waves when the muscles in the back of the throat are restricted. When the mind is quieted by the stunning noises of your ocean waves, your focus is shifted to the body’s sensations. As you oscillate from pose to posture combining it with breath, you shed fear, insecurity and boundaries that block you from linking authentically to yourself and others. Yoga not just makes you feel sensually gorgeous inside, it also assists to produce a sensually lovely body on the outside.
