Yoga is a practice focused on incorporating the mind, body and spirit whose beginnings can be traced back to over 5,000 years ago. There are various courses in yoga that emphasize various strategies. The primary yoga instructed in the western world is called Hatha. This type of yoga concentrates on difference positions and breathing with presents and position modifications.

Restorative Poses

Many individuals count on yoga for leisure and restoration. Poses referred to as child’s present and remains are two restorative positions. Attempt to bring the heels as close as possible to the ground.


A lunge is done by bringing the right leg in front of the body while keeping the knee straight over the ankle. The left leg should be straight and weight should be on the right leg in front with a small amount on the ball of the left foot. One option for the upper body is for it to be straight and close to the right upper leg with the hands on either side of the right ankle. The other option is for the upper body to be perpendicular to the ground with the arms up in the air.


The Warrior includes 3 postures. Warrior I is finished with the legs in the lunge position and the torso straight. The head should be seeking out and both arms must be sharp upward toward the ceiling. Warrior II is finished with the legs in the lunge position and the arms in a ‘T.’ If the right leg is forward in the lunge, then the right arm should be sharp forward. The head will be looking over the arm and front leg in the lunge. Warrior III is done by standing with the front leg of the lunge straight, the back leg straight and perpendicular to the other, and both arms point forward. All of the body weight need to be on the front foot.
