elliegoulding-yogaEllie Goulding isn’t ready to let a hectic performance schedule (said in the English method: shed-yule) get in the way of her yoga. The British pop singer-songwriter takes her mind-body fitness routine seriously, and daily. ‘My training is part of my life. It’s something I’ve to do every day, since it affects my mood, my fitness, even my mindset onstage,’ the ‘Burn’ vocalist stated in the July issue of Self publication for which she’s the cover star.

Though it’s an extensive shopping list of activities – boxing, gymnastics, martial arts, Barry’s Bootcamp, Insanity DVD and yoga – that we got tired from just by discussing, it’s the yoga that’s her favorite since, well, it’s a rather nice high.

‘I get the biggest high when I do yoga. Individuals do not understand that there’s such an incredible medicine in life that doesn’t include any elements,’ she said.

While the whole yoga-drug contrast is a little irksome, we can probably all associate with that feeling of the ‘yoga high.’ Also, it’s rather refreshing to see a performer taking note of mind-body health and not everything about the crunk juice and molly popping, or whatever the kids call it these days.

‘I have gotten a little various priorities while being on this world,’ stated 27-year-old Goulding,’and one of them is to respect my body and to do as much as I can with it while I am right here.’

Maybe other pop stars will follow suit. Anything might take place. We think she likes to let the incense burn, burn, burn, burn … OK, we are done.
